Pathway 01 · gateway operational

We open new rail freight pathways from China to Europe.

End-to-end pathway delivery for shippers and platform companies that need dedicated corridor capacity outside the mainstream routes — regulatory activation, operating control at a strategic gateway, and last-mile coverage across the EU.

01 · The problem

The corridor is large. The capacity is concentrated.

China–Europe rail has scaled faster than the gateway infrastructure serving it. Volume keeps arriving at the same handful of published terminals — and the queue forms there, not on the line.

20,000+China–Europe trains operated in calendar year 2025
110,000+cumulative China–Europe trains, 2011 to end-2025
~80%of corridor transit concentrated through a single gateway terminal, position at time of publication

Corridor figures are Geomax's own market estimates, corridor analysis edition 2026. They are not third-party audited data and are stated as orders of magnitude, not as measured throughput at our own gateway.

The corridor does not need more volume on the same lanes. It needs alternative pathways.
What this means for shippers
  • Slot competition at the primary gateway terminals
  • Schedule volatility from concentrated routing
  • Generic public-tariff handling — no dedicated capacity
  • Customs and handoff fragmentation across operators
  • Few real alternatives for shippers needing a dedicated lane

02 · What we do

We open dedicated corridor pathways. End to end.

For every pathway we open, we deliver the full chain — origin to last mile, regulatory to operational. One counterpart for the customer.

01

Origin design

Selection of China rail hubs matched to the customer's geography, commodity profile and timing requirements.

02

Pathway activation

Identification and regulatory enablement of underused gateway terminals — SMGS registration, customs corridor, CR Express ecosystem entry.

03

Operational control

A single counterpart for handling, customs, storage and dispatch, run from our own control centre with real-time issue resolution.

04

Last-mile coverage

Vetted EU forwarder network across Poland, Germany and Central Europe — rail or road depending on shipment profile.

03 · The full chain

One coordinated chain, China origin to European delivery.

Most operators sell you a leg. We hold the control point that determines whether the whole chain moves — where dwell, customs and re-formation are decided — and we are accountable for it end to end.

Geomax holds operating control at the gateway node — the control point, where dwell, customs and re-formation are decided, and where we are accountable.

04 · The activated gateway

Real infrastructure. Under our operating control.

The specification below describes the terminal behind Pathway 01 — live, dual-gauge, SMGS-registered, and operated by Geomax under exclusive rights. Three fields are withheld: the site name, the station code and the asset-holding entity. Everything else is on this page.

Operating record

Pathway 01 is at first-commercial-flow stage. Every quantitative figure above is a capacity or a dimension — not volume moved. Trains received and dispatched to date, containers handled, the date of the most recent train and the number of counterparties served are issued as a dated operating record at diligence stage. We do not publish an operating figure we cannot evidence.

Figures are the terminal operator's stated operating indicators, drawn from its capacity, rail-operations and equipment statements. They are indicative pending diligence — the signed and stamped originals are issued in the NDA pack — and are subject to cargo type, train composition, documentation readiness and operating schedule. Commercial terms — handling, storage and dwell — are issued in the pathway term sheet, not published.
The Authorised Economic Operator status referenced above is a non-EU authorisation. It is not an EU UCC AEO authorisation and carries no EU mutual recognition. The certificate is disclosed under NDA.
Site name, station code, asset-holding entity, layout plan and photographic package are released against a mutual NDA, and in full at operational walkthrough stage.

05 · Why Geomax

Activation capability is the moat — not a single terminal.

Anyone can resell a slot on a saturated lane. Very few can take an underused terminal through registration, customs and ecosystem entry and turn it into a working gateway.

Traditional freight forwarder
  • Books capacity on existing routes
  • Resells slots on saturated mainstream lanes
  • No control over gateway capacity
  • Cannot create new pathways for clients
  • Margin compressed by commoditised service
  • No regulatory or activation capability
Geomax · corridor enablement
  • Opens new dedicated pathways
  • Activates underused terminals as dedicated gateways
  • Holds operating control at the activated node
  • Designs pathway configuration against client volume
  • Dedicated capacity at contracted rates, not public-tariff slot competition
  • Regulatory expertise across SMGS jurisdictions

06 · Pathway pipeline

One pathway live. More in regulatory development.

Pathway 01 proves the activation model. Additional pathways are in regulatory and commercial development across the Northern, Central and Trans-Caspian corridors. Configurations are designed against committed customer volume.

Pathway 01 · active

Northern gateway

China → activated gateway → EU

Operational. First commercial flows engaged, CR Express ecosystem integration in progress, EU last-mile network selected and contracting in progress.

Pathway 02 · in development

Trans-Caspian alternate

China → KZ → Caspian → Caucasus → CEE

Evaluation phase. A middle-corridor configuration for partners whose compliance frameworks require a route that avoids the northern transit.

Pathway 03 · in development

Secondary northern gateway

China → second activation → EU

Redundancy and surge capacity for high-volume partners committed to the primary northern route.

07 · Compliance posture

Route selection is a compliance decision before it is a logistics one.

Partners routing into the EU carry their own screening obligations, and we structure engagements so those obligations can actually be met — not worked around.

  • Terminal operating qualifications maintained compliant with the applicable customs regulatory framework — Authorised Economic Operator authorisation, temporary storage, and operation within a customs control zone
  • Authorised Economic Operator status is a non-EU authorisation held by the terminal operating entity. It is not an EU UCC AEO authorisation and carries no EU mutual recognition; the certificate is disclosed under NDA
  • Licensed customs broker engaged at the gateway; broker identity and engagement letter released under NDA
  • Counterparty and cargo screening to be agreed with the partner, in the pathway agreement, before first pilot shipment
  • Restricted, dual-use and sanctioned goods excluded from pathway scope under the pathway agreement
  • Pathway 02, a route avoiding the northern transit, is in development and at evaluation phase — target activation 12–18 months. It is not currently available
  • Full jurisdictional, corporate and regulatory disclosure provided at diligence stage

Partners remain responsible for their own sanctions and export-control determinations. We provide the documentation to support them.

08 · Partnership

Co-design a pathway against your volume.

We don't sell terminal slots. We engineer corridor solutions around a committed flow.

Geomax delivers
  • A dedicated pathway designed around your origin, volume and timing
  • Activated gateway capacity we hold operating control over
  • Single counterpart across rail, customs, storage and dispatch
  • Control centre coverage for real-time issue resolution
  • EU last-mile coordination through a vetted forwarder network
  • Regulatory expertise across the SMGS / CR Express ecosystem
Partner brings
  • Volume commitment over a defined horizon
  • Routing sponsorship within your platform or network
  • Pilot shipment(s) for operational validation
  • Co-development of the SLA and pricing framework
  • A strategic relationship — corridor operator, not vendor

Counterparty identification

The contracting entity, its registration number and registered address, the named authorised representative with title, and a direct telephone line are issued on request — before any commercial discussion — so that your counterparty and sanctions screening can begin immediately. Ask by email and we send them the same working day.

NDA mechanic

Mutual NDA — our template or yours. On execution we release the gateway site name, the station code and the asset-holding entity, together with the layout plan, the photographic package, and the signed and stamped capacity, rail-operations, equipment and customs capability confirmations.
